Ethos

We are hear to put the care back into cat care. By prioritising quality cat care over quantity of guests to deliver a truly cat focused experience. In tailoring the creation of Four the Love of Cats with cat psychology at the forefront we hope our guests enjoy a holistic experience allowing them to return to you content, clean, and cared for. We are genuinely excited to have your cat be part of our family during their stay.

Prior to Stay

We ask that all our guests are wormed and flead one week prior to their check in, allowing your furry friend to be feline on top form during their stay with us.

​

In line with council regulations we must take a copy of up-to-date vaccination records and micro-chip details. These can be emailed or photographed over at time of booking or produced in person but documentation must be provided 24 hours prior to check-in. 

 

Cat Care Plan

Upon receipt of your deposit securing your suite, we will email your cat care plan along with your invoice to your preferred email address. We have created our cat care plan so we can incorporate as much of your cats normal routine into their stay. The fewer changes to your cats routine the less stress they will experience whilst you are away.

Please feel free to put as much or as little detail as you wish on your cats care plan, so we can treat your cat in the manner they are accustomed to. 

​

If your cat enjoys assisted grooming and this something they do regularly with yourself at home please specify this on your care plan so we can integrate this into your cats daily routine, as this is great for stress relief and building trust with your cat.

Check-in

Our ethos is to try to reduce stress for your furry friends during their stay. To enable us to do this we allow a 15 minute private check in period upon arrival, so we can sit with your furry family member allowing them to get to know us whilst exploring their new surroundings with support. Our check-in times are between 1-7pm, please specify an estimated check in time so we can arrange a private check in window allowing us to give each of our guests some dedicated time to settle into their suites. 

 

Food

We provide Felix wet cat food and Go-cat dry cat food for all our guests. We understand some cats prefer their normal diet so if you wish to provide their normal food, we are more than happy to accommodate anything that makes our guests stay more pleasurable.

 

Our cat Ginger likes to be fed dry food at the bottom with a wet pouch on top (not mixed), three times a day, with fresh water at each feed. Feel free to share your cats preferences on food preparation, water changing or treat distribution on the cat care plan and we will endeavour to keep your cats preferences as close to their normal routine as possible.

If you wish to bring your cats favourite treats, we have stimulating puzzle cat toys that we can put a treat into for your cat to investigate and attain.

​

Check-Out

After your furry friend has had a relaxing stay with us they will undoubtedly be excited to be reunited with you. To allow you to enjoy this intimate reconnection we have one guest checking out at a time, between 7-11.30am. Please provide an estimate check out time so we can make your reconnection as intimate and special as possible.

WhatsApp updates 

We include free WhatsApp pictures, videos & updates so you have the peace of mind of knowing how your treasured furry family member is enjoying their stay at Four the Love of Cats.  

 

You can set the frequency of update you would like to receive e.g. Daily, every 2 days, once a week etc. The updates are for your information and enjoyment, replies are welcome but not expected. If you don’t wish to have an update that is also fine. 

 

Photos, Media & Data Protection 

We love to take photos & videos of our guests enjoying their stay. We would love to be able to share these photos on our website with your consent. We also respect our guests privacy & your right to opt out of sharing your cats images. 

 

We comply with the 'Data Protection Act 2018'.

Suite Design

We have built each bespoke suite with cat psychology in mind. Cats enjoy exploring multiple vertical spaces and ledges incorporating this and to give your furry friend space to explore we have created our suites to the councils 'higher standards' 150% size requirements. Also by limiting the number of suites to only four, we reduce the noise and stress with the limited amount of guests we have, whilst increasing the amount of love and care we can shower on your beloved feline friend.

We have Silver Birch trees in each suite, to encourage scratching, rubbing and climbing which are all natural stress reducer for cats. Each suite has individual cat scratching beds for guests to find the seclusion and privacy they need, when they need it. Each bed also contains a self warming and cooling cat blanket for extra comfort. We have also installed extra large cat hammocks with scratching/jumpig posts to encourage maximum relaxation. Cats enjoy high vantage points with a view of the door and window as they like the security of being able to see what's going on. We have created a lounging level in each suite with a window view to give your cat maximum stimulation during their stay.

With cats being such clean animals, they do not enjoy their bathrooms being in their dining rooms, so we have created a ground floor area with segregated litter area, away from food and water bowls. Double depth extra wide litter trays are provided for your cats toiletry comfort, with Catsan cat litter. Each suite has 15 degree anti-choke bowls with a golden tilt angle to prevent cervical spine and digestive problems. All our bowls are clear for cleanliness and so we can precisely monitor your cats food and water intake throughout the day. Each suite has multiple toys for cat enrichment, including Unlock cat treat wooden stimulation toy.

​

The double suite boasts two of all amenities that are found in our master suites. Suitable for two members of the same household to share or purfect for giving a single furry friend an extra luxurious stay.

​

Our intimate cattery is an insulated brick building, double glazed, with climate control heaters with temperature notifications, 360 degree CCTV monitoring and 24 hour on-site personal care.

Catio

Each suite has private window access to our tailor-made Catio. The Catio offers the chance for guests to get some fresh air and outdoor stimulation in a safe enclosed environment. Catio features include a crab apple tree, multiple lounging levels and ledges, scratch/leaping posts, rope ladder bridge, natural rattan cat swinging bed for your cat to explore. Cat grass has been planted on the edge of the Catio to encourage stimulation, exploration and relaxation for our guests. Our garden has an abundance of wildlife, daily visitors include; Robins, Bluetits, Finches, Grasshoppers, Catterpillars, Butterflies, Bees and Bugs, all of which provide stimulation and entertainment for your furry friend.

Payment

Please feel free to use our online booking and payment services to make payments via PayPal.

 

We are also happy to accept cash or bank transfers.

 

Deposit to be paid at time of booking. Full balance to be paid 48 hours prior to check-in.

Family run small business

We have set up our small family run business to show our children we can build an independent business out of our passion in life. We love cats and hopefully after enjoying a purfect stay with us you would feel confident in leaving us a honest google review. As a family we love seeing your favourite photo or video of your cat enjoying their stay with us on your reviews.

 

We hope to have your cat as a life long friend, so we can continue to help take care of your treasured furry family member whenever you are away.
